The historic train station in Southport, Connecticut was converted into a new restaurant. The interior brick and trusses of the original station were exposed to preserve the original character of the building. A wooden form floats inside the framework allowing back of house spaces to be hidden beneath and an upstairs dining room above. A large clock projects onto the station wall reflecting the station’s history. A glass box protrudes from the station housing a long bar and relaxed seating. Delicate louvers dress the exterior.
